I wasn’t sure if I was going to unveil all three covers at once, but the more I thought about it the more I realized the three covers belong together. Working with Keith Silvas, KeithSilvas.com, the covers’ artist, was fun, and believe it or not, Keith was able to take my thoughts and put them into pictures. The Riley Cooper Series of Hope’s covers were close to what I wanted (Restoration of Hope is my favorite and dead-on as to what I wanted), but with the new series, Open Your Eyes, I wanted the covers to have meaning. I chose the all-white covers to represent the purity of God’s justice and forgiveness. The crosses are for a lot of different reasons, but the main three are to remind us of God’s grace and mercy, and an indication as to where the story will take place. Okay, so the first two are important and the third is simply extra information. Blue is the color for human trafficking awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are not your typical human trafficking stories. Blue Blindfold is a story told through the eyes of Clay Warner, a man whose sister has gone missing while touring Ireland. The second…you guessed it, takes place in the Middle East and is through the eyes of Savannah, a young American woman. The third with the old rugged wooden cross, Shattered Silence, is stateside and a story seen through the eyes of a pedophile’s family. Three completely different stories, with only a few characters traveling through all three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspiration for these stories came from a man whom I have followed on social media for some time now, Craig ‘Sawman’ Sawyer, founder of Vets4ChildRescue.org. The work he does is amazing. Then I met Dr. Doug Bennet another amazing human being, and the founder of MagdaleneHope.org who showed me it wasn’t enough to just follow anti-human trafficking organizations online, but I needed to get involved somehow. The first book is dedicated to him. Then a beautiful friend told me about a woman who was coming into town to share her story of being trafficked. I dragged three friends with me to hear Rebecca Bender, RebeccaBender.org, speak and was blown away. I bought her book In Pursuit of Love and couldn’t put it down. And voila, the birth of my new series, Open Your Eyes. Book one, Blue Blindfold, is still scheduled to be released to the public in time for Christmas, (the lack of supplies is hitting everyone, even the publishing world). However, I will announce its release as soon as I get word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
